Our patients are not just people we treat; instead, they truly are our friends and it’s an honor to care for them. I always look forward to seeing them during their visits to our office, whether I am meeting a new patient or catching up on the life and happenings in an established patient. My primary duties involve working with our hygienists in filling in their books, confirming patients, calling patients to schedule routine appointments, and checking insurance benefits. I also handle the marketing for our practice and perform other tasks, too. I keep busy, but I’m never too busy for a chat!
During my time away from the office, you’ll find me helping around our family farm, sewing, crafting, spending time with family and friends, and flower and vegetable gardening. My husband Brandon and I live in Spencerville with our dog, Sierra. I am a member of St. John the Baptist-Landeck.

I love working with our patients. Seeing them smile and feel more confident after any type of major cosmetic treatment is completed makes me happy. Even better are those patients who come to us after having avoided dental care for some years, out of fear. When we are able to reassure them that their treatment will be painless, and that they will have better oral health and overall health once we’ve finished fixing their issues, that’s a good feeling. I work closely with our doctors to schedule patients for treatments, put together treatment plans, and check on insurance benefits. I also check out patients at the end of their visits, and confirm appointments, too.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my four beautiful grandchildren. I married my high school sweetheart more than 30 years ago and we have four children. We also have a lab named Sammy. I love to sew and do crafts in my spare time. Our whole family has been involved in the Wapakoneta wrestling program for 27 years and we love the sport.

Interacting with our patients, getting to know them while we make their smiles healthy and beautiful, is incredible! Each morning I come into the office knowing that I’m going to have some fascinating conversations with interesting people, and that makes me look forward to the work day. I spend my days assisting Dr. Makuh chairside, as he sees and cares for our patients. In addition to ensuring that he has everything he needs, I talk with our patients, learning about them and from them, seeing to it that they are relaxed and comfortable. I also keep them informed about what the doctor is doing, so they know what to expect.
During my days off, you will find me attending my teenage children’s sporting events and other activities. I also enjoy listening to music, delving into a good book, and spending time with my family and friends.

Our office is warm and friendly, and our patients react well to that atmosphere. They come in smiling, share laughter with us, and leave smiling, too. Each day I am allowed to start getting to know our new patients and to catch up on the lives of our established patients; each exchange is wonderful and I find my work rewarding. I perform dental cleanings and oral cancer screenings, take X-rays, and treat for periodontal disease. A lot of my time is spent teaching our patients about home dental hygiene and how they can keep their teeth and gums healthy between visits to our office.
As for my personal life, I am married and have two children. I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting, and being outdoors in the summer.

Helping our patients preserve their smiles, through achieving and maintaining excellent oral wellness, while spending time talking and laughing with them, makes me love my job. I cannot imagine another field where I’d get to spend my days getting to know people and helping improving their lives in such a meaningful way. Among my duties here, I apply fluoride treatments, take X-rays, clean teeth, and perform soft tissue management. I also spend a lot of my time working one-on-one with each patient, helping them to understand the connection between their body’s health and their oral health, and how best to keep their mouth healthy between their regular dental cleanings. I love it when a patient comes back for a checkup and I can see that they’ve improved their home oral hygiene practices.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my husband Barry, two children, Kyle and Erica, and our dog Liberty. I also like reading, walking, and kayaking, and I officiate at swim meets, too.

Our office has given me the opportunity to feel like I'm giving back to our community. I thoroughly enjoy giving my patients the best care to help them preserve their teeth. I love everything about dental hygiene, and being able to help people get confidence back. Seeing people smile when they leave makes me so happy.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking my dog on walks, hanging out with family, being outside and baking.
